Pizzeria Bianco

I am very excited. A friend actually got reservations for tonight and, as usual, I have been dreaming of pizza ever since (well...actually, even prior to the reservations I was dreaming about brick oven pizza.) I have heard some nasty little rumors that Chris Bianco will be stepping out of the kitchen due to allergies from the flour. Oh how sad. I remember going to FATE after Johnny Chu had stopped cooking and was so disappointed. But I am sure Chris has got it covered. Stay tuned....I will report back after tonight!

Well, I can tell you I was not disappointed. Of course, we had a reservation for 6:30 and when we showed up they were running behind. So we waited for another 30 min. at Bar Bianco next door chatting and sipping on our wine. It was fine, but my goodness, we had a reservation. Is anyone else ever put off by the hype of this place? Okay, I guess I don’t really mind. It really is a fun night out when you are with friends. But I hadn’t eaten a bite since lunch and I was starving since 4. However, I couldn’t stop thinking about pizza, and didn’t want to spoil my appetite, so I held out.

Finally our table is ready!

We ordered our appetizers and pizzas. We shared a green salad with vinaigrette. It was a very simple salad, but also very tasty. The greens were just so fresh and there were a few flavorful olives to top it off. If you are a prosciutto lover, I would suggest the Fontina cheese wrapped in prosciutto on top of greens. WOW that is Amazing. The Antipasto is small, but every little morsel on the plate is just so delicious. Very well thought out, perfectly cooked and seasoned.

As you read earlier I had my concerns over the pizza. I was afraid of disappointment because I have been dreaming of this for so long… Perfect, warm, soft crust, topped with flavorful tomato sauce, salty prosciutto, and fresh arugula.

WISEGUY

Well the verdict is in.

I loved every bite! The crust was amazing. The generous amount of thin, salty prosciutto draped over the top of the pizza was so heavenly. The arugula so fresh. It was just as good, if not better than ever. It could be the fact that I was starving. But, holding out for this great pie was well worth it.

At times I wonder.. Does food make everyone this happy? Or just me?
